Procedures

Revised techniques and modern advances in treatment have led to excellent long-term success rates in the treatment of pelvic floor disorders. At the Florida Bladder Institute, technology available for the treatment and diagnosis of these problems include:

Urodynamic Testing (cytometrogram) with the Lumax Pro® system-urodynamic testing is the assessment of the function of your bladder using two tiny catheters with electronic sensors that measure the capacity, flow, pressure, and sensations of your bladder.

In-Office Cystoscopy - a cystoscope is a small camera that is inserted into your bladder under local anesthesia (pain medicine) that allows a physician to visually inspect the inside of your bladder and urethra (the tube you urinate from) for abnormalities.

4-Dimensional Scanning - an ultrasound scan of your pelvis and bladder can reveal disease processes that can cause many annoying and dangerous symptoms in the pelvis (stones, polyps, fibroids, cancerous growths and benign tumors, dilation or blockage of the urinary tract, etc.) 4-dimensional scanning allows for complex measurements that were impossible in the past.

Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation - using the Pathway CTS 2000® system, disorders of the pelvis can now be diagnosed and treated in a minimally-invasive way, using electrical stimulation and electromyelographic contraction techniques. This minimally-invasive treatment has revolutionized the field of urogynecology.

Interstim® Sacral Nerve Stimulation - urinary urgency and frequency, urge incontinence, and non-obstructive urinary retention can now be effectively and safely treated with an implant near the lower spine. This procedure is performed on an outpatient basis with almost no recuperation time. Used for people that have failed traditional medical therapies.
